Warranty terms and trade practices of Southwest Auto Recycling, Inc.
Terms of Sale:
Seller makes no refunds or adjustments on parts that are:
- Damaged or improperly installed by the buyer or their party;
- Disassembled, altered or missing parts when returned;
- Special order parts, Cut to order body sections (includes frame sections);
- Custom or modified installations;
- Parts not accompanied by original invoice.
If these conditions are not met, adjustments will be made solely at seller’s discretion.
A cash down payment is required for orders where parts must be removed from vehicle. Down payments are non-refundable and are forfeited if merchandise is not picked up within 30 days.
Payment in full is required for parts to be special ordered from alternate vendors. Returns on special ordered merchandise are subject to alternate vendors return policies, and will be subject to a 15% handling fee payable to Southwest Auto Recycling, Inc. in addition to any fees charged by alternate vendor. Freight charges on special orders are non-refundable.
All exchange parts (CORES) must be returned at time of purchase or a core charge will be made. This core charge will be refunded only if the core is accompanied by the original invoice. Cores are subject to inspection by Southwest Auto Recycling, Inc. prior to acceptance for core credit. Cores must be complete, drained of fluids, and assembled upon receipt or deductions will be made.
If a part is accepted for return, refund will be made by company check or will be credited back to credit card used for original purchase.
Alternate vendor’s warranty policies differ from Southwest Auto Recycling, Inc. and Southwest Auto Recycling, Inc. makes no independent warranty whatsoever.
Warranty Information:
With this purchase, Southwest Auto Recycling, Inc. makes a 180 days parts only warranty from the date of purchase (unless otherwise specified on invoice). All warranty claims must include this invoice. All parts submitted for warranty claims must bear Southwest Auto Recycling, Inc. identifying marks, no adjustments will be made if these marks have been altered or removed.
Engine warranty specifically covers the engine block, cylinder head and valves, camshaft, connecting rods and bearings, pistons, piston rings, oil pump, crank shaft and bearings, rocker arms, valve lifters and other internal lubricated parts. Warranty guarantees engine is free from knocks, smoking, and excessive oil consumption (excessive being more than is allowable by manufacturer specification). Excluded from this warranty are the fuel delivery systems, water pump, cooling components and hoses, all electrical parts, hoses and metal lines, intake and exhaust manifold, fuel injection pumps, timing belts or chain and related components, external seals, all other fuel injection parts and all other external parts. Calibration and adjustment of excluded parts is also excluded from this warranty. This warranty is void if new oil, oil filter, and front and rear main seals are not used in installation. Failure to follow manufacturers recommended service intervals voids warranty. Heat tabs are installed on all engines and indicate if the engine has been overheated, if heat tab is melted out or removed warranty is void.
Transmission warranty covers case and all internal parts including the torque converter. Warranty does not cover mounts, shift linkage, flywheel, and externally mounted parts. Warranty is void if new filter kit is not installed when applicable and cooler lines and cooler are not properly flushed or replaced prior to installation according to manufacturer’s specification. Some transmission cooler systems have thermostatic valves in cooler or lines and must be “hot flushed”; failure to do so when required voids warranty. Due to the complexity of today’s computer controlled automatic transmissions professional installation IS required to validate warranty. Failure due to improper installation voids warranty. Pump and/or front seal damage from improper torque converter installation voids warranty.
Axle assemblies are guaranteed only in non-modified vehicles, under normal driving conditions. Axle warranty is limited to housing, shafts, gears and bearings. Brakes and seals are excluded from this warranty.
All mechanical part warranties are voided if part is run without fluids, or run with incorrect or insufficient fluid.
Body parts visually inspected by buyer are accepted in as-is condition and will not be accepted for return.
Warranty on air conditioning compressors is valid only if part is correctly installed by a licensed technician.
No warranty on electrical parts, electrical parts accepted for return will be subject to 50% restocking fee. We do not sell parts for experimental or diagnostic purposes. Many electrical items require programming to function properly. Programming is sole responsibility of purchaser.
Radiators, condensers, and intercoolers are guaranteed not to leak at time of purchase.
Tires: Tires are sold as-is with no warranty expressed or implied. Buyer assumes all risk relating to the use of said tires.
Parts returned not defective are subject to acceptance by Southwest Auto Recycling, Inc. and must be presented within 30 days of purchase. Any part accepted for return will be subject to a 20% restocking fee.
Approval for repairs or replacements must be granted by Southwest Auto Recycling, Inc. prior to removal of defective part(s) and/or any warranty work being performed.
We reserve the right to inspect any and all parts prior to replacement and/or labor payment.
Defective items must be made available for inspection by seller prior to replacement. Buyer is responsible for the return of any defective item submitted for warranty claim.
All claims must include original invoice.
Warranties are not transferable.
NO WARRANTY OR REIMBURSEMENT ON LABOR COSTS UNLESS LABOR WARRANTY IS PURCHASED WITH PART.

When purchased with Engine, Transmission or Transfer Case, this warranty adds limited labor coverage as outlined below should the part be deemed defective in accordance with the terms of Southwest Auto Recycling, Inc. limited warranty within the 6 month warranty period.
Platinum Warranty Upgrade
12 month warranty - limited labor coverage

Transmission / Transfer Case 25%
When purchased with Engine, Transmission or Transfer Case, this warranty extends the coverage period to 12 months rather than the standard 6 months and adds limited labor coverage as outlined below should the part be deemed defective in accordance with the terms of Southwest Auto Recycling, Inc. limited warranty within the 12 month warranty period.
Extended warranty terms and conditions:- Approval for repairs or replacements must be granted by Southwest Auto Recycling, Inc. prior to removal of defective part(s) and/or any warranty work being performed.
- We reserve the right to inspect any and all parts prior to replacement and/or labor payment.
- Extended and labor warranties must be purchased at time of original sale and cannot be added after purchase.
- ASE certified professional installation is required to validate any and all extended warranties and/or labor warranties.
- Accurate testing and diagnostic results confirming defect/failure required for all warranty claims (codes, symptoms, live data, pressure readings, etc.) “It’s bad” is not an accurate diagnostic.
- Labor coverage will only be paid should the part be deemed defective according to the terms and conditions of Southwest Auto Recycling, Inc. limited warranty within the extended warranty period.
- Labor coverage is not available on parts with a purchase price of less than 500 dollars.
- Extended warranties and labor coverage are not available on parts purchased for use in commercial or fleet vehicles.
- Any and all warranty claims must be accompanied by original invoice.
- Installation receipt and/or vehicle service records must be made available upon sellers request to validate any warranty claim.
- Labor is paid at a rate of $75 per hour based on labor times outlined by Mitchell repair and estimate guidelines Part replacement and labor reimbursement are limited to one time only.
Labor warranty coverage is limited to labor time to replace defective part only. All warranties are non-transferable and original invoice must accompany any and all claims.
